Network Administrator (m/f/d)

Media Broadcast Satellite GmbH (MBS) is a reliable service integrator for critical communication services and operator of managed gateways. We have been operating data and voice communications via satellite and data networks for more than 40 years - worldwide and in space. Our know-how includes classic satellite services as well as customized applications in the field of New Space.

As a network administrator (m/f/d) you are responsible for network management, operation and ongoing technical optimization, as well as documentation of network structures and systems. You develop concepts for modern network infrastructure and implement them accordingly. From our unique location in Usingen, you will help change the world of satellite communications.

• Conceptual design, planning and implementation of network infrastructure projects in cooperation with the specialist departments
• Administration, configuration, maintenance, error analysis and ensuring the operation of the network infrastructure and components
• Continuous development of the network infrastructure in the areas of technology, performance, availability and security
• Analysis of network and IT security risks within the infrastructures, identification and implementation of solutions to avert risks in these areas
• Creation and maintenance of system and network documentation
• Support of the IT service desk, user support (1st and 2nd level)

• You have completed vocational training in the IT environment (e.g. IT specialist) or a comparable qualification with several years of experience in network administration
• Sound knowledge of TCP/IP, VPN, Layer-2 & Layer-3 handling and routing protocols
• Extensive knowledge in conceptual design and operation of (SD-) WAN, LAN infrastructures, as well as routing and firewall management and like to work your way into new areas
• Confident handling of Cisco products in the area of routing & switches
• Experience in the area of DWDM systems and their operation
• Experience in the area of virtual network appliances is desirable
• Experience in dealing with network management systems
• Hands-on mentality

• You have excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work outside normal working hours and to participate in the on-call service
• Required language skills: German - C1, English - B1
