IT Linux Administrator (m/f/d)

Media Broadcast Satellite GmbH (MBS) is a reliable service integrator for critical communications services and operator of managed gateways. As an IT Linux Administrator (m/f/d), you keep our systems running — stable, secure, and high-performing. At one of our locations in Usingen near Frankfurt, Munich, or Hamburg, you will take responsibility for the operation and further development of our Linux server environment, ensuring that our IT infrastructure runs smoothly — from the data center to the cloud.

• Administration and maintenance of our Linux servers (e.g., Ubuntu, Red Hat, Debian), including system updates, security patches, and user management
• Automation of recurring tasks using Bash, Ansible, or Python
• Monitoring and performance optimization of our systems with modern tools (e.g., CheckMK, Grafana)
• Troubleshooting and issue analysis in close collaboration with the network and application teams
• Documentation of technical processes and participation in the development of our IT standards
• Involvement in projects, such as the introduction of new technologies or migrations to hybrid environments

• Completed degree in (business) informatics, telecommunications, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in designing and operating complex network infrastructures
• In-depth knowledge of routing, switching, VLAN, VPN, BGP, OSPF, SR-MPLS, and Spine-Leaf architectures
• Experience with Next-Generation Firewalls, load balancing, SD-WAN, and network security
• Expertise in automation and infrastructure management (e.g., Ansible, Pathfinder)
• Analytical thinking, strategic foresight, and a structured work approach
• Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts in an understandable manner
• Required language skills: German – C1, English – C1
