You own end-to-end delivery of the Flight Dynamics System: planning, engineering, testing/commissioning and transition into stable operations. You ensure real service readiness – not just “a satellite in orbit”.

Your tasks
  • Responsible for the development, validation, and operation of the Flight Dynamics System
  • Development and validation of mission planning algorithms and tools supporting LEO, GEO, and ISL operations planning and execution
  • Ownership of FDS requirements development, engineering activities, and interface control aspects
  • Lead Orbit Determination, Maneuver Planning, Performance Analysis, Trajectory Design/Optimisation, Perturbation and Error Analyses, Conjunction Assessments, Collision Avoidance (COLA)
  • Constellation-level optimisation to maximise mission uptime, customer value, and mission lifetime
  • Interface with and co-develop other parts of the Ground Segment Software, in particular the Mission Control System, Mission Planning System and User Support Software
  • Support system readiness, planning, preparation, execution, and evaluation for all phases of our spacecraft lifetime: from launch to end of life
  • Mentor, support, and provide guidance to junior Flight Dynamics Engineers and Mission Analysts, fostering technical growth and excellence across an FD team
Your profile
  • Completed degree in aerospace engineering, or a comparable qualification with a technical focus
  • Experience and/or deep knowledge in spacecraft astrodynamics including orbit determination, maneuver planning, trajectory design
  • Experience with mission analysis tools and standard astrodynamics software packages: OREKIT, GMAT, STK, SPICE, others
  • Proficiency in programming
  • Active and solution-oriented, cooperative and appreciative approach to conflict situations
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team and excellent organisational skills
  • High level of interest, willingness to learn and develop in terms of dealing with people in a project environment
  • Required language skills: English – C1, German – not essential
