Who We Are

MBS operates satellites, ground stations, and secure communications networks to ensure that armed forces, government agencies, and businesses remain reliably connected anytime and anywhere.

As an owner-managed, mid-sized company specializing in satellite communications and space technology, we employ around 300 people across our locations in Germany, France, and Poland. With our own ground infrastructure, including the largest teleport in Germany, we have been developing and operating highly reliable satellite and data network communication solutions for government and industrial customers for over 45 years.

Working at MBS means making a direct contribution to Europe’s security infrastructure, with real responsibility from day one.

As part of our New Space team, you’ll develop mission-critical ground segment software that powers Mission Control, automation and satellite operations. Working with Kotlin, Spring Boot and modern infrastructure technologies, you’ll help create scalable systems that manage satellites, process large amounts of data and keep space missions running smoothly.

Your Mission
  • Develop and maintain mission-critical backend services and APIs using Kotlin and Spring Boot
  • Design software for satellite ground segment applications handling large-scale data processing and Mission Control workflows
  • Build and improve internal tools for monitoring, automation and operational support
  • Integrate external systems and services into our ground segment platform
  • Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers and satellite operations specialists to evolve our architecture and platform
What You'll Bring to the Mission
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Several years (5+) of professional experience in backend software development using Kotlin, Java or other JVM technologies
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the development of scalable APIs and distributed systems
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD and containerized environments; Docker and Kubernetes on premise are a plus
  • Interest in satellites, space and complex technical systems
  • Required language skills: German – A1, English – C1
