Embedded Linux Software Engineer (m/f/d)

With our own ground stations in Germany and Europe as well as operational payloads in orbit, we have been developing and operating space-based solutions for government and industrial customers worldwide for almost 50 years. Our core services include satellite communications, satellite-based intelligence, and Managed Gateways.

We’re looking for an Embedded Linux Software Engineer to bring our satellite payloads to life. You’ll develop onboard software, interface with embedded hardware, and put your code to the test in hardware-in-the-loop setups. Your mission: reliable code, seamless integration, and space-bound performance.

• Implement the on-board payload software for our satellites
• Prepare your code for seamless integration into our Gitlab based CI/CD-toolchain
• Support hardware-in-the-loop tests

• Programming skills in C and Python
• Experience with embedded devices, e.g. microcontrollers, FPGA, and interfaces like UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, Ethernet
• Strong problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with satellite communication protocols (CCSDS)
• Experience with satellite mission operations, including commanding, control, and data processing
• Knowledge of space hardware
• Enthusiasm for space missions
